The best wash routine is the one you can repeat without rushing. You do not need a wall of products. You need clean tools, a sensible order, and enough time to avoid dragging grit across the paint.
Start with the dirtiest areas
Clean the wheels with tools that never touch the bodywork. Then rinse the car from top to bottom so loose dirt leaves before the mitt arrives.
Keep wash water and rinse water separate
Use one bucket for the wash solution and another for rinsing the mitt. Work from the cleaner upper panels toward the dirtier lower sections. Rinse the mitt often and replace the water when it looks contaminated.
Dry without pressure
After a final rinse, use a clean drying towel and light contact. Pat or glide the towel over the surface instead of scrubbing at remaining water.
This routine is intentionally basic. Paint condition, local water rules, temperature, and product instructions can change the right process for a particular car.
